House to House — discover the kitchens of old Dubai through poetry

Poet Shamma Al Bastaki joins Selma Abu Alia to explore the food memories of Dubai’s Creek communities. Hear how conversations with elders became poetry, and how shared meals, celebrations and everyday kitchens shaped the city’s food culture.

Dubai Creek photographed in 2012, illustrating the conversation’s subject. The event takes place at Concrete, Alserkal Avenue; no boat ride is included.
